5th AfriAlliance Innovation Brokerage Event: Climate proof IWRM

This 5th AfriAlliance Innovation Bridge Events (IBE) served as a matching platform for universities, science councils and companies in water and climate change with potential collaborators, funders and investors to facilitate commercialisation, awareness and better uptake of their innovations. It contributed to the overarching objective of the AfriAlliance project, which is to foster social innovation in order to meet water and climate challenges in Africa. Under the framework of the AfriAlliance proejct, social Innovation is mobilized as a tool to tackle societal, water-related challenges arising from climate change by combining the technological & non-technological dimensions of innovation.

This edition of the AfriAlliance IBE addressed social innovation and its various dimensions (technique, capacity building, governance, commercialization), gathering diverse stakeholders across all levels of government and the sectors of climate, water, environment and innovation. The session included technology exhibitions and demonstrations and plenary discussion on fostering technological innovations for further development, uptake and commercialization.
